Doddajala Metro Station: Route, Distance, Connectivity and Airport Access
The Doddajala metro station is 2.4 - 5 Km away from Sattva City, Bangalore. The station can be easily reached from this upcoming township through BMTC buses and cabs.
Doddajala Metro Station is an ongoing large metro station on the Blue Line (Ph 2B) of Namma Metro Bangalore. The station is well-located, close to the Kempegowda airport. It is also known as “Gateway to the Airport Zone,” and is a 38.4-km Airport Line corridor.
The station is expected to provide a seamless, traffic-free link between North Bangalore and the city centre. Its operations are planned to begin by June 2026.
Route
The route of the metro station is elevated on the Blue Line and will connect from Silk Route to KIA. The metro station before Silk Route is Bagalur Cross, and the last station following is Airport City. The line will connect directly to the
- Purple Line (at KR Puram),
- Pink Line (at Nagawara), and
- Yellow Line (at Silk Board)
Distance and Key Points
This large metro station is located on Bellary Road or NH-44 near Sadahalli Gate and ITC Factory. Its distance to key areas is closeby and people can commute from here to any part of the city. Below are the approximate distances from key places to the metro station:
Connectivity
- Bus Connectivity: The station is located right next to the Sadahalli Gate bus stop. BMTC airport buses, including Vayu Vajra and KIA-9H services, already operate frequently on this route.
- Suburban Rail Link: There is a proposal to connect the nearby Doddajala Halt Railway Station with the Metro station. This plan aims to create a convenient transit hub for commuters.
- Road Access: The station has direct access from the NH 44 Expressway. It includes two entry and exit points on both sides of the highway to handle traffic smoothly. This is from the city side as well as the airport side.
Airport Access
The area is the last stop of the city, which is well-linked to the city, and flyers can easily reach.
- Last-Mile Access: Once the metro starts operating, the airport terminal will be just two stops away. From the area, the train will first reach Airport City station and then continue to the KIAL Terminals. This is a partially underground station.
- Strategic Role: This station is mainly designed for people working in the Aerospace Park and KIADB Industrial Area. The residents living in the top townships are residing here.
Current development & Opening (2026 Update)
- Construction Status: The project is close to completion. As of February 2026, most of the viaduct (metro track) work has been completed. The roof structure work for the station building is currently in progress.
- Expected Opening: Although the civil construction is almost finished, the entire Airport Line (from Hebbal to KIA) is expected to start commercial operations by early 2027. However, there are ongoing efforts to begin a partial launch of the airport stretch by late 2026.
Property Trends
The real estate market in the locale is currently strong and growing fast. Apartment prices range between Rs. 9,500 and Rs. 13,000 per sq. ft. Plot prices have gone up to Rs. 10,000 per sq. ft. This price rise is happening as the Blue Line Metro moves closer to its June 2026 completion.
The rapid growth of the Aerospace Park has also boosted demand in the area. Property values have increased by around 15% annually. Because of this steady growth, the area has become one of Bangalore’s top-performing corridors, with rental returns of 4–5%.
